New York State Police Newsroom: VA Doctor arrested on sex abuse charges

On April 5, 2018, the New York State Police, in coordination with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General Criminal Investigations Division, arrested Doctor Jerome F. Cuyler, age 74 of Sackets Harbor, for the following charges:

  • (6) counts of Forcible Touching, a class “A” misdemeanor
  • (5) counts of Sexual Abuse 3rd degree, a class “B” misdemeanor
  • (1) count of Aggravated Sexual Abuse 4th degree, a class “E” felony.

These charges stem from multiple incidents in 2016, where Dr. Cuyler is alleged to have had sexual contact with several adult patients at the Veterans Affairs clinic located at the CANI building, 19472 U.S. Route 11, in the town of Watertown.

Dr. Cuyler was arraigned before Town Justice Porter in the town of Watertown Court and released on his own recognizance.  This matter has been referred to grand jury proceedings.
